Bishop Threatens President Aquino With Excommunication Over Birth Control
You have GOT to be kidding me.
When asked if Aquino might be excommunicated if he insists that government should distribute artificial contraceptives, Odchimar said: “That is a possibility…. Right now, it is a proximate possibility.”
Will someone please remind these people that education, family planning, safe sex, reproductive health, condoms, and birth control pills are NOT THE SAME as abortion and abortifacients? And that birth control has been around since the Ancient Egyptians and I highly doubt every single one of them went to hell for inventing a condom? Most importantly, though, will someone please remind them that:
- The Metro is overpopulated with children who have no homes and no education and end up engaging in child labor or begging or crime syndicates just to stay alive
- The HIV problem is actually GROWING here, and there’s not enough testing/awareness/etc going on.
- THESE PEOPLE HAVE SEX ANYWAY WHETHER YOU TELL THEM TO ABSTAIN OR NOT. And they end up not using birth control because they don’t have access, and they’re afraid they’ll go to hell for using protection because you keep telling them they will. Seriously. You would really rather continue overpopulating the city, and continue spreading STDs. Fun.
Seriously.
Amen, and pass the ammunition.
